Basic Life Support and Management of Anaphylaxis

Qualification Overview
This qualification is for people who have a specific interest or a responsibility at work, at home or in voluntary and community activities, in being able to provide BLS and manage anaphylaxis when dealing with an emergency.
Course content:
Manage an unresponsive casualty who is breathing normally
Manage an unresponsive casualty who is not breathing normally
Recognise a casualty with anaphylaxis
Manage a casualty with anaphylaxis
Also included as part of above is:
Casualty positioning:
when a casualty is showing signs of life-threatening circulation problems
when a casualty has difficulty breathing but does not show signs of circulation problems
CPR on an adult and/or child
Correct placement of AED pads and following AED instructions
Length: 1/2 day
Validity: 1 year
